Tom is getting around and regaining more of his movements. Jan 30, 2006 Tom was discharged from the hospital on the 15th. He is doing well and he and Jayne are adjusting to the new routine. Dec 17, 05 Tom's physical improvement is remarkable. He has regained some of the movement he had lost. The road to 100% recovery is still going to be difficult. He and Jayne remain in good spirits. December 12, 2005 Tom is expected to be in the hospital until December 19, 2005. He will require constant assistance for awhile when he gets home. It is hoped for that he will be recovered within three months. He is encouraged by the desire to get back to playing guitar at his church and to begin running again. He has maintained a near-constant regimen of competitive running. I believe he won the Southwest (USA) Senior Olympics for the 800 meters a few years back. He recently had major surgery for another illness and miraculously ran in an endurance race a few weeks after surgery. His dedication and attitude should serve him well in his recovery. Dec 5, 2005 AM Tom is still in the hospital, but 'rarin' to get out. He has made remarkable improvement in his physical therapy. Dec 3, 2005 Tom is out of critical care. He remains in the hospital and has begun assisted walking. Nov 28, 2005 6:00 PM Tom is doing better. He has some impairment, but the doctors believe he may recover 100%. Nov 26, 2005 6:00 PM Tom Barker is in Riverside Hospital Critical Care Room 6118. His condition is serious.
